This is an ongoing project that involved creating an entire online learning program from the ground up. The goal of the program was a twofold: create a platform to help a.) eliminate direct training from the CEO and b.) create an additional revenue source.
The solution? A self-paced online learning program aimed to help brands and executives build thought leadership on social media.
To begin the process, I spent quite a bit of time in research and discovery –gathering everything I could about the subject matter, targeted learner and a Learning Management System (LMS) we’d use. Surveying clients and internal team members helped me identify the right learning solution and LMS needed to launch the program.
Then, I partnered with senior leadership and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to review project plans and develop curricula. Then, I put on my writers hat and got to work –creating all of the learning content, assessments and practice activities.
Given the complexity of the project and limited resources, I decided to keep things simple. Course components include: text, graphics, media artifacts, surveys and assessments as well as real-world practice to help synthesize learning material and make it worthwhile.
Using tools like Google Docs and Asana allowed for the creative and course development process to be more collaborative and efficient.
Over the course of 6 months I established branding for the program, developed 2 courses, sales pages and a marketing strategy to support.
What’s next? While the initial program is live, there are modifications being made to branding, sales pages, site user experience as well as course content every day. New (and improved) courses is in the hopper for 2019.
